Welcome to Ushuaia. Upon arrival at Ushuaia Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel for some rest. Afterwards, you can explore this unique city, known as the “End of the World,” and experience its extraordinary charm as the gateway to Antarctica.
A complimentary Air2Sea transfer will be available from Ushuaia Airport (USH). Pre-reserved is required. Please leave some time between flight arrival and shuttle bus departure.
If you will travel from other places or arrive earlier, your hotel room will be available for check-in starting from 3pm.
Enjoy your morning at Ushuaia. Before noon, you will be transferred to the port to embark and begin your unforgettable expedition.
After embarkation and a safety briefing, settle into your cabin and take in the first breathtaking views.
During the two days crossing the Drake Passage, you will be fully engaged in preparing for the great Antarctic adventure. Expedition team members will hold briefings and provide detailed guidance on zodiac boat operations, while also instructing on biosecurity cleaning of clothing and boots to ensure every step meets environmental standards.
Onboard lectures will immerse you in the world of Antarctic ecology, revealing fascinating insights into wildlife and the mysteries of the Southern Ocean. You can also browse polar stories in the onboard polar library or go for a jog in the gym, enjoying this relaxing time at sea. Most exciting of all is the gradual approach to the Antarctic continent, fueling endless curiosity and anticipation for the unknown.
Finally, you set foot on the Antarctic Peninsula. In this frigid world south of 60°S, islands and the continent are blanketed in ice and snow, with floating ice glistening in shades of blue and white under the sun, while penguins and seals dot the landscape. Over the next four days, you will embark on an immersive exploration that feels like stepping into a documentary film. In this “mountains of geese, seas of geese” alien-like world, every landing and cruise is filled with surprises and the unknown.
As the final two days at sea unfold, a gentle melancholy may settle in, for the time to bid farewell to Antarctica approaches. Yet under the soft glow of the setting sun, as the landscape fades into the horizon, you can savor nature at its most exquisite, and feel a serene calm wash over you.
The expedition team will continue to share captivating lectures, or you may simply choose to bask in the tranquil stillness of this remote polar realm. Antarctica is a land of wonder, drawing countless visitors year after year, yet this journey, will remain an unforgettable, singular experience, etched forever in memory.
Today you disembark in Ushuaia, saying farewell to the expedition team, fellow travelers, and the ship, marking the end of this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
